Twinline offers Vectran® HT with two types of finishes, and coatings.

Vectran® T150 Stearate finish. No coatings

Vectran® T97 Silicone finish. With after braiding coatings

Characteristics:

Vectran™

T150 HT is a high-performance multi filament yarn spun from liquid crystal polymer (LCP). It has high strength with near zero creep over time. Vectran® has superior abrasion resistance, excellent moisture resistance, and exceptional property retention over broad ranges of temperature and chemical environments.

Twinline offers Vectran® HT with two types of finishes.

Vectran® T150 and Vectran® T97. Both of these finishes are applied at the factory. If we apply any subsequent coatings they are done after the braiding process. A coating is not the same as a processing finish.

Vectran® T150 has a stearate-based finish with approximately 0.3-1.1% FOY (finish-on-yarn) applied at the factory for processing capability. This Vectran® is used for textile weaving, aerospace and scientific applications. Vectran® T97 has a silicone lubricant with an FOY of approximately 4.0 – 6.0%, added to enhance service life by reducing yarn-to-yarn abrasion. One or both finishes may be necessary for lubrication of the fibers during the manufacturing and extended service life. Both finishes have a very low vapor pressure at room temperature. We offer the Vectran® T150 in the 125 and 200 lb braid with no additional coatings applied. All of our other Vectran® cords are made with the T 97 finish with additional coatings applied after braiding. The Vectran® T97 with a silicon finish is a more popular choice because of its long lasting abrasion resistance.
